    Realonetech,

    I just read the userguide for X-lite 4.0. The IM feature uses the Simple protocol. I don't believe that protocol is used in OpenFire as SIMPLE is a subset of SIP from what I understand. To my best understanding, if SIMPLE is supported in Elastix, it would be supported by the PBX engine (Asterix) instead. Somebody else will have to chime in to see if it's supported. For OpenFire, you want to use Jabber/XMPP clients like Spark or Trillian.

    Hope this helps,

    Sir realtonetech;

    The free version of X-lite does not support XMPP, but the paid version (commercial) known as "Bria" does. So if you want to use a great softphone (same as X-lite only with more options) with OpenFire connectivaty then you need to go with Bria. You will find it on the same web site as X-lite.

    Hope this helps.
