    Hello,

Which softphone do you use together with your Elastix installations?
I've got following list of features the ideal softphone should have:

    - free for commercial use
    - SIP and IAX2, ilbc codec
    - ability to run by URL like callto: or sip:
    - shows availability of other users in phone book
    - works with Windows XP, Vista and 7.

Seems not to complicated but I haven't found any softphone which fulfills all the expectations (first point is the biggest showstopper). Maybe you can share your experiences?

most of the softphones supports either sip or iax (well zoiper does both).

twinkle is good one but no window version and no iax.
linphone supports windows too but no iax.

i think u can try zoiper. it has free edition.

    cheers.

Zoiper has one disadvantage - no callto: or sip: link in Free version. Maybe you know some other?

You get what you pay for :)

Why would anyone give you good "free stuff" (apart from Elastix) It's called Capitalism and "Value Added Reselling", what did you add to "capitalize" your deployment apart from you time and effort, was that worth anything in your opinion? If so, please pay the other poor bastard you want to ride on the neck of reciprocally (or produce your own) :)
