After upgrading, when I open the unembedded version of freepbx, there is the following notification:

retrieve_conf failed to sym link the /etc/asterisk/sip.conf file from modules
    Added 12 minutes ago
    (retrieve_conf.SYMLINK)

I find no reference to this file and am not sure what it is. Anyone?

To solve just follow this steps:

    1) mv /etc/asterisk/sip.conf /etc/asterisk/sip.conf.old
    2) /var/lib/asterisk/bin/retrieve_conf

    Edgar,

On line 2 you want to execute this? Or something else?

do I have to end up doing this for all conf files? After I followed your instructions, got the same error but for iax.conf, so I did the same thing for iax.conf and then it gives me the same for extensions.conf. How many more do I need to fix?

Yes. Really it's not needed for us but freePBX wants to do it in this way to gain control on these files in its update process.

ok, the complete fix is this:

    #mv /etc/asterisk/sip.conf /etc/asterisk/sip.conf.old
    #mv /etc/asterisk/iax.conf /etc/asterisk/iax.conf.old
    #mv /etc/asterisk/extensions.conf /etc/asterisk/extensions.conf.old
    #mv /var/lib/asterisk/bin/fax-process.pl /var/lib/asterisk/bin/fax-process.pl.old

    #/var/lib/asterisk/bin/retrieve_conf
