Welcome greeting

Hi all,
I installed Elastix a couple of weeks ago and has been live for a few days now.
I have set up "welcome to ..." recordings for 3 of our departments so that which ever phone is dialed the relevant welcome message will play to the client prior to ringing.
Is this possible to set up on Elastix v1.6 for each extension?

Do You want to place a greeting fo each extension?

if so, i think you have at least two options:

- Set an Announcement for each Extension and configure you IVR to play it before the call is transfered to the extension.

- I have not used to much the Call Center appliance but i think you can add a greeteng for each agent, before the call incomes.

Try first,i think you will have what you want.

If you want to do it per extension, and using any IVR option, you will need to edit macro-exten-vm located at extensions.conf, and use an AGI to check which extension will be played, and playback the corresponding message.
Some programming will be needed.

Thanks for the tips.
We are not using IVR as relevant staff have their own DID's.
Would this make any differance in setting this up?

You can setup an Announcement for each DID and in the incoming route set it up as first alternative then in the Announcement setup the extension as Destination after playback.
