    I just upgraded my smartphone from a windows mobile to Android (Samsung I9000)

    now I can't listen to my voicemail attachments in the email as Android doesn't have the u-law codec that asterisk uses on the .wav file that is attached.

    Can I change the codec or attachment type to mp3?

    Thanks

    actually its slin not g711 :)

    but on voicemail.conf

    [general]
    ; 1st listed format gets emailed
    format = gsm|wav|wav49

    will make gsm (which androids of course love) wav, big old m$oft slin files and WAV (wav49) m$soft's incomplete mp3 attempt.

    you can of course just use gsm and leave out the rest, but then your windows machine can't read gsm, go figure.
