    Is there a way to modify the email template that is used when a voicemail is sent? I need to add a special notifyer in either the Subject Line or in the Body. The notifyer will allow my Help Desk system to separate these emails and apply a special template that is only used with the voicemail messages.

    Thank you,

    from Elastix Without Tears Page 116

    emailbody=${VM_NAME},\n\nThere is a new voicemail in mailbox
    ${VM_MAILBOX}:\n\n\tFrom:\t${VM_CALLERID}\n\tLength:\t${VM_DUR}
    seconds\n\tDate:\t${VM_DATE}\n\nDial *98 to access your voicemail by phone.\nVisit

    I initially had some trouble getting the formatting to work properly. I was trying to modify the file via the Elastix file editor but it did not save the file correctly. You should edit the file via a terminal.

    Code:
    nano /etc/asterisk/vm_email.inc
    Good luck!

    Thanks for the above advice, however, I am still not able to get it right with version 2.2.0-14.

    Each time I edit this file, it changes back to the old file.

    I have tried editing it through the file manager, as well as through the command line. The file manager just does not save the changes.

    I've tried to change it via the command line, checked that it has been saved by exiting the file & then re-loading it, but as soon as a message is sent, the file defaults back to the original text.

    Any ideas?

    I am having the same issue, I can edit vm_email.inc and it seems to be getting overwritten, back to the default. Help?
