I am currently unable to forward the local IP for my elastix PBX to the public IP of the cisco router it is connected to.

I SSH into the PBX and was able to ping yahoo just to make sure that the box is reaching the internet. I even forwarded other devices (eg phone) to the public IP of the router and could see them from the internet.

However when the box IP is forwarded I am unable to see the box, this make me unable to remotely manage the box.

    can some assit here please.

    Hi there
    Check the following:

    1) Verify the local IP of the elastix box. It should be eth0 or eth1

2)In your router, verify that you are forwarding correctly the port 5060 in TCP to the local IP address of the elastix box. Additionaly you have to open the ports 5000 to 3000 in UDP forwarded to the ip address of the elastix box.

3)If your public ip address changes, I recommend a NOIP account domain.

    Waiting for your comments

I'm not sure I understand your problem.

It may be related to a lot of different issues like:
nat and conf of the sip_nat.conf
    cisco acl and fixup
    port forwarding
Elastix http remote access IP policy
    ...

Instead of forwarding through the usual tcp port 80 I used tcp port 443..the port specified by elastix.

I then used the URL: https://elastix local IP, and am now able to view the web interface. I can remotely manage now

Thanks guys for your speedy respose..it well appreciated
