I am having a ISDN PRI line (with 32 channels) in my elastix server, all the while running fine but today encountered the following errors in my asterisk console "TRUNK Dial failed due to CHANUNAVAIL" when I attempted to make outgoing calls. What could be the possible reasons for this?

I am using DAHDI channels, is that correct that I am defining outgoing trunks as ZAP/1, ZAP/2,...,ZAP/31. I have checked that the outbound routes have been pointing to these outgoing trunks.

Hope someone can shed some lights here

    Thanks and Regards,

    Eric

ZAP/1 is channel 1 on your span

Why do you not use ZAP/g0 for outgoing calls, which will select the next available channel in group 0 (they are all in group 0 by default)?

    Hi Dicko,

I defined trunk ZAP/g0 and let my outbound route to use that trunk but still encounter problems not able to call out. How can I check if this is an issue due to the telco provider?

Extension to extension calls however working perfectly.

    from bash

    zttool

    from asterisk CLI.

zap show channel (n) or channels or status

the zap show status will show OK and no errors on good spans.

if the span looks good you will have to debug the pri channel

    pri debug etc.

    Hi Dicko,

Big thankyou for your help. I found out to be my carrier problems.

BTW, I am looking for some experts (do not mind to pay a minor fee) to troubleshoot my elastix server problems: calls landed into a queue/ring group but were not distributed to the SIP extensions, you have any one to recommend

You can't go wrong, and help the project, by the Palosanto Option.
