Hi all,

I'm trying to configure correctly a SIP gateway with Asterisk 1.4.24.1 without success.

I already tried to find some information on internet about other people that already configured this hardware.

This gateway should work fine with Asterisk (at least this is what the supplier says), but after 2 weeks, I'm not able to register the gateway with asterisk

I always have this information on asterisk: Got SIP response 405 "Method Not Allowed" back from 192.168.2.218

I already tried different configurations both on Asterisk side and on SIP gateway side, without sucess.

I'm not experienced with this kind of gateway, just with Digium cards and with VoIP providers. I would expect that this gateway should work similar as a VoIP provider and I tried to set the trunk on it.

If someone already has configured that, will be truly helpful any directions.

thanks in advance.

Hi jgutierrez,

Thanks for your reply.

Trunk configuration:

PEER details:

username=10001
type=friend
secret=xxxx
qualify=3000
nat=no
insecure=very
host=192.168.2.218
fromuser=10001
fromdomain=192.168.2.218
dtmfmode=rfc2833
dtmf=inband
canreinvite=no
authuser=10001
authname=10001

USER Details:

username=10001
type=peer
secret=xxxx
qualify=3000
nat=no
insecure=very
host=192.168.2.218
fromuser=10001
fromdomain=192.168.2.218
dtmfmode=rfc2833
dtmf=inband
canreinvite=no
authuser=10001
authname=10001

Registration:

10001:xxxx@192.168.2.218

On TopGate side, I have the following SIP Settings avaliable:

SIP Port: 5060
Proxy: 192.168.2.145:5060
Registrar:
Register Expires: 600
SIP Domain Name:
Authentication Mode: Per Gateway Reg (other options are: Per Endpoint; Per Gateway Auth)
User name: 10001
Password: xxxx

I already tried to change the Authentication mode for all of 3 options, without success.
There is no difference if I put on Registrar field the IP address and port.

Best regards,

Try to setup on peer details:
canreinvite=no
context=from-trunk
dtmfmode=rfc2833
host=192.168.2.218
insecure=very
type=friend
user=10001
qualify=yes
secret=xxxx

user details leave it in blank

try using a register string:
10001:xxxx@192.168.2.218

What do you get?
I f you execute from the shell:
asterisk -rx "sip show peers"
asterisk -rx "sip show registry"
What do you get?
Are you able to ping 192.168.2.218, that ip is on the same net as your Elastix? Else, from that net, are you able to ping Elastix?
