New install 1.6-12 when recording a system recording I get this error after pressing SAVE.

cp: cannot create regular file `/var/lib/asterisk/sounds/custom/daygreet.wav': Permission denied
Make sure you have entered a proper name

    Any suggestions?

Have you checked the permissions for the custom folder in /var/lib/asterisk/sounds?

My folder had permissions of rwxrwxr-x so all you need to do is "chmod 775 custom" and then give it a try again.

looking at another box and the owner of the custom directory is asterisk not root.
How would I change the owner to asterisk from root? I'm not a linux guru.

Oh I over looked the owner when I saw that the permissions were wrong. The command is "chown asterisk:asterisk custom"
