I am having an issue with a new installation of Elastix. I have done a standard install and processed updates from the Standard repository only. I am using and Astribank 2 to connect my in coming PRI. The PRI is configured with 17 Channels.

I am getting random and sometimes repeated disconnects, along with problems make outbound calls, with the message that all cercuits are busy.

I am new to Asterisk based PBX's and could really use some help.

Attached are some config files that I hope will help with some resolution. http://forum.elastix.org/old_files/Dahdi_Config_Files.txt

welcome here timhay69:

First off, you say you have 17 channels but you set up your span for 1-23.

I have tried to edit the system.conf to define only channels 1-17, but then I have no connectivity at all. When I leave it as 1-23, Asterisk seems to discover that 18-23 are not available.

Like I said, I am very new to this. I have limited linux and telco knowledge and have been thrown in the middle of a forest fire with this new system after recovering from complete failure. :)

Any configuration help would be greatly appreciated.

I thought that I had the configuration for a PRI T1. :( I am in the U.S. and have a 17 active channels on a 23 channel T1. I am familiar with T1's not E1's.

Thanks for the replies

Re: Re:Strange issue with Dahdi PRI

also it will never work as dahdi always need to have all channels assigned to it...look this}
all the 2nd span is commented,.....how to jump to the analog 49 etc channels if the 2nd span is deactivated..u need to configure all the channels and then assing the functioning ones in asterisk removing or adding as u wish

# Span 2: XBUS-00/XPD-01 "Xorcom XPD #00/01: T1" RED
#span=2,2,0,esf,b8zs
# termtype: te
#bchan=25-47
#dchan=48
#echocanceller=oslec,25-47

# Span 3: XBUS-00/XPD-10 "Xorcom XPD #00/10: FXS"
fxoks=49
echocanceller=oslec,49
fxoks=50
echocanceller=oslec,50
fxoks=51
echocanceller=oslec,51
fxoks=52
echocanceller=oslec,52
fxoks=53
echocanceller=oslec,53
fxoks=54
echocanceller=oslec

Re: Re:Strange issue with Dahdi PRI

Thank you all very much. I am doing the file edits now, but have to wait for clear lines to restart asterisk and dahdi. I will post results.

I have also been doing some reading about identifiying unused channels in one of the .conf files. Any ideas on this?

Re: Re:Strange issue with Dahdi PRI

I have restarted asterisk and dahdi. The lines seemed to come right up. I will have to wait and see about the dropped calls issue.

One developement in that is that while one user was on a very lengthy phone call, other users reported having drops. This points to the SIP side and my connections to certain endpoints. I am using Grandstream GXP2110 phones. I have been tailing the full log and only see the hangups without any errors. Any ideas?

Thanks again for helping the noob.
