Standard Port 22 (TCP) unless it has been added & changed in /etc/ssh/ssh_config

Re:SSH POrt Number ???

Thanks, Bob

Do you know, is "ssh" turned of by default? Reason, I'm not grasping the dial pattern rules and dial rules stuff for some reason. I guess I need to buy a coffee company and really get lit (lol). I downloaded a program called "Visual Dialplan" (can be seen at http://www.apstel.com)in an attempt to get my dialing thing working and can't seem to get the thing to sign on to my server with ssh. I then tried to do the putty thing and can't get that working either, so I figured it had to be activated, as soon as I can locate where to do it at.

Thanks
William

Yes, its definitely turned on by default, and it's definitely running on port 22 by default.

Have you forgotten what you set your "root" password as during installation ?

Does PuTTY even prompt you for a Username / Password? If not, check your firewall - It's probably blocking it.

Re:SSH POrt Number ???

Thank you sir,

I got it going. Dummy me, I was trying to use admin instead of root or other usr name. Go figure.

Thanks for the help though.

Hi.

Read the comments Bob.
He said:

So, just edit this file and uncomment the line :#Port 22 and put Port 2222 for example!

Regards
