    Re:How to change vm notification email subject

    edit voicemail.conf and add the line.

    emailsubject=Voicemail ${VM_MSGNUM}, Length ${VM_DUR}, From ${VM_CALLERID}

    I added it below the serveremail = line.

    This will change your subject to be something like:
    Voicemail 1, Length 1:06 From 'your name'<Caller ID>

    You must also add:
    #include vm_email.inc above the [general]line

    The only problem with this is that all your formating for the email will be lost so I included this line too under the other one.

    emailbody=${VM_NAME} there is a new voicemail in mailbox ${VM_MAILBOX} for you, from ${VM_CALLERID}, ${VM_DUR} seconds in length dated ${VM_DATE}. Dial *98 to access your voicemail by your office phone.

    Get the picture, Hope this helps.

    Oh and don't forget to reboot.

    Hi,

    Thanks Telco for your quick answer ;)
    I think your made a mistake on the file to edit, i suppose you mean vm_email.inc to edit, not voicemail.conf ?

    As i wasn't sure about the file to edit, i try to edit the vm_email.inc and i have added the line:
    emailsubject=You have a new message in your voicemail !

    before the "emailbody=" line.
    It is working fine, so i want to thank you because you gave me a tip on how to do that.

    For the others users who want to do the same thing, i join my vm_email.inc.

    I had tried that in the vm_email.inc but it did not work for me. SO I had to modify the voicemail.conf then it worked.

    Ok, maybe it is not the same release than you i use.
    I didn't have the line you said in the voicemail.conf : "serveremail=".

    I use the last stable release of Elastix 0.9.2.

    In all cases, thank you a lot because it works now :)
