softphone not register

    Hi,
    i just installed Elastix and its look very promising,
    i have finished the installation and added 2 extensions,
    then i have tried to configure the softphone in order to test the PBX,
    my problem is that the softphones ZoIPer 2.18 will not register to the PBX,
    and every time i try to dial it give me the message "the number you have dialed is not in service please check the number and try again".
    the Elastix is all in default parameters, i just added 2 extensions (100 and 111)

    both the desktop and the server are in the same network.
    i can ping/http the server with no problem.
    Elastix version is:Elastix-1.3-stable-29sep2008.iso

    about me... this is the first time i every installed a PBX
    also i am an experience user in linux.

    Hello,

    What number did you try to call? Did you try to call the other extension that you created?

    From your debug:

    So, maybe your extension didn'g even register yet?
    I am not familiar with ZoIPer but you can try Sjphone or Eyebeam. They are pretty easy to use. The later one supports g.729 too.

    You might be trying to register with a wrong username.
    Typically the username is your extension number, such as 100, so sip should try to register as 100@10.0.8.1
    If SIP softphones are giving you trouble, try IAXcomm - naturally you'll need to create an IAX2 extension.

    Thanks guys,
    after a nice dinner and a dog walk everything looks different,
    the problem was solved... the sip user name was wrong, i am sorry to disturb you with that basic issue.
    but.. it will be nice to see user/password error in one of the logs.
