I did a clean default install on a system with a Pentium Dual Core, 2GB RAM, 500GB HD & 2 ethernet ports. It by default installed Centos 5 i386.

    Why?

What is the procedures to install for smp support?

    It is already SMP.
Do cat /proc/cpuinfo. You'll see all yours cpu there.
    At least works for me.
Did you mean 64 bit support?
