    Hi all...
    can i have suggestion on how to online sip phone from outside my local network to my elastix server???...

    I've tried open port 5060-5080 and 10000-20000 to the elastix server at my firewall , but it doesn't work.... sip phone from outside can register but cannot dial anything... ( when i call from outside it will not ring, but when i hung up phone from outside, the inside phone will start ringing.... strange! )

    Thanks in advance....

    jai555jai,

    Edit your /etc/asterisk/sip_nat.conf

    add these lines

    externip=<your fixed external Public IP>
    localnet=192.168.1.0/255.255.255.0 (replace with yours)

    If that doesnt work, confirm that your phone is setup to definitely use the port range that you specified.

    Otherwise it sounds like your port forwards are not working and that you are relying purely on the Router NAT. E.g. your NAT session is staying live for a short period, after making an outbound call, and for that short period it is letting a call in.

    Hope this helps

    Regards
