    Hi there!

I experience difficulties with sending/receiving messages in elastix. I have softphone and GSM Gateway which can send and receives messages, but elsastix doesn't support SIP MESSAGE. When i try to send from client -

    Code:
    MESSAGE sip:100903@domain.com SIP/2.0
    Via: SIP/2.0/UDP 192.168.1.1:1029;rport;branch=z9hG4bKPjFdd4QGlwN90dWrWjhnohYNou0o3r7BHk
    Max-Forwards: 70
    From: <sip:100903@domain.com>;tag=1cbqhX9Zq07nzDuhKUVAG7DLHJVbhZlk
    To: <sip:100903@domain.com>
    Call-ID: P49jN2gvPadwNAwYPl84rI.j1CNOsL.N
    CSeq: 24626 MESSAGE
    Accept: text/plain, application/im-iscomposing+xml
    Contact: <sip:100903@192.168.1.1:1029;transport=UDP;ob>
    User-Agent: CSipSimple
    Route: <sip:domain.com;lr>
    Content-Type: text/plain
    Content-Length: 6
    TEST MESSAGE
I got an answer from elastix (Asterisk 1.6.2.13)

    Code:
    SIP/2.0 405 Method Not Allowed
    Via: SIP/2.0/UDP 192.168.1.1:1029;branch=z9hG4bKPjFdd4QGlwN90dWrWjhnohYNou0o3r7BHk;received=192.168.1.1;rport=1029
    From: <sip:100903@domain.com>;tag=1cbqhX9Zq07nzDuhKUVAG7DLHJVbhZlk
    To: <sip:100903@domain.com>;tag=as3908b6fb
    Call-ID: P49jN2gvPadwNAwYPl84rI.j1CNOsL.N
    CSeq: 24626 MESSAGE
    Server: Asterisk PBX 1.6.2.13
Allow: INVITE, ACK, CANCEL, OPTIONS, BYE, REFER, SUBSCRIBE, NOTIFY, INFO

What should i do to allow MESSAGE in Elastix/Asterisk ?

Unfortunatley for you, Asterisk only supports a small sub-set of the SIP protocol, basically the parts concerned with telephony, and even that limited to being a "back-to-back user agent". Given that, you won't be able to pass the SIP MESSAGE bits between these endpoints of the session initiated.

I believe their is an API to do what you want in FreeSwitch (for a GUI BlueBox ex. FreePBX 3.0), that of course can't be made to work directly in Elastix/Asterisk

    sorry
