    Hello,

    I have installed elastix 1.5.2 on a power edge 1750 successfully and all features are working well. but I have a problem with music on hold.
    I have added a MoH category and uploaded my wav file. but when I choose the music on hold in my queue, the incoming call to that queue hears air. I have tried different types of wav and mp3 files. but it seems to work random. some files are OK and some are silent.
    I have tried the same file in the IVR menu and the file works fine there.

    any suggestion ?

    Hi memay1980, wellcome to the Elastix forum.

    You should use a standard mp3 format for all your moh music. VBR usually causes problems, so use CBR. You should also convert everything to 8bits mono.

    It might also be a permissions problem.
    I have a small script in /usr/bin like this:

    chown -R asterisk:asterisk /var/lib/asterisk/mohmp3
    chown -R asterisk:asterisk /var/lib/asterisk/sounds
    chmod -R 777 /var/lib/asterisk/mohmp3
    chmod -R 777 /var/lib/asterisk/sounds

    and I run it after importing moh or sounds to correct permissions.

    The MOH streaming works great and you can add an extension so you can listen to streaming when not on calls

    /etc/asterisk

    Edit extensions_custom.conf and add under from-internal-custom

    exten => 6000,1,Answer
    exten => 6000,2,MusicOnHold(stream)
    exten => 6000,3,Hangup

    now just dial 6000 for a bit of music while you work

    Thanks all

    I installed the mpg rpm package on my server, and upload an mp3 file.
    It's working fine now.
