A couple of days ago I saw a video showing that Switchvox can do web lookups for incoming CIDs, and I found Asteridex at the Nerd Vittles webpage. I think it is one of the first steps to accomplish the web lookups.

Here is a link to install Asteridex, a dialer/agenda app, based on this Nerd Vittles tutorial:

    http://bestof.nerdvittles.com/applications/asteridex/

    You can dowload it here:
    http://www.lolacolay.com/ramon/asteridex.sh

I hope the Fireboard issues pasting code in this forum get solved soon, I prefer posting the scripts here, but as many times I've had problems I decided to post them elsewhere.

    Instructions:

First you need to configure your dialplan, extensions, trunks, incoming and outgoing routes, etc.
After that you just need to download and run the script.
It'll ask you for some parameters. Follow the instructions, and be careful with capital or non capital letters. Keep them as in the small examples.

    Code:
    wget http://www.lolacolay.com/ramon/asteridex.sh
    chmod +x asteridex.sh
    ./asteridex.sh

If you are concerned with security (you should be), have a look at the "Hardening Your System" last paragraph at the Nerd Vittles tutorial, and perform the needed steps to increase security in Asteridex.

Yes I read about Superfecta, thanks for pointing out.
In the Prerequisites I saw you needed Asteridex, and I started on it.
But later, I have seen that you just need to install it if you want to perform Asteridex lookups.
But actually I think I won't need Asteridex. I got a license for Snap a number last year and it works great for what I need. BTW, a couple of days ago I saw they have closed their website, and it is redirected to some digium page..

I'm using Sperfecta and I'm quite happy with it. Of course it's limited to the North American database, and it would be nice to have an universal world reverse phone book somewhere.

I was thinking about asteridex but I'm not sure how well it will interface with elastix.

I'm still looking for a windows application that will send the callto: or the thunderdbird/lighting address book phone number to the asterisk manager.

I use Snap, it looks as the website is not closed, as I told in my previous post:
    http://www.snapanumber.com/
It has Outlook lookup for outgoing calls, Firefox and Thunderbird integration...
I even got a license of the Pro version to test its features, it is only 30 bucks, though many users will be ok with the free version, if they don't need all the pro features. Try it, it is a nice program.

But now I think VTigerCRM in Elastix has also integrated asterisk support for popups of incoming calls, am I wrong?
