    Hi,

Im using latest Elastix stable, and 8 grandstream SIP Phones (with POE). Im experiencing robotic speech sometimes when phones are ringin and sometimes in place calls. I know this happen due to packet lost. It is a new network, using airlink (2 of them) poe switch/hub, no router, only static ips. Cables are cat5e, no sipura, we are using a certified asterisk card(dont have the specs with me, but if they are required, ill post them). We are using GSM codec right now, we decide to use it since the problem started, but it still happens. PBX hardware specs - recommended gigabyte Motherboard, 2GB Ram ddr2, 80GB HD Sata, Celeron Processor 3.06Ghz, socket 775.

We are also experiencing some busy lines, calls dont hang up properly sometimes.

    Any suggestions? Any info request?

Thank you for spending time reading this.

    Welcome to the Elastix community:

Station to Station or Station to Trunk (you neglected to state what trunking you're using)?

Trunk is analog. Phones are sip.

Then revert back to PCM (alaw/ulaw) as this is the only codec allowed by analog trunks, and you are thus needlessly trans-coding twice.

Your LAN seems adequately provisioned, so I doubt whether there is a problem there.

Analog Busy's and no hangups are covered here a few times. (search for "far end disconnect" )

Make sure your g711 implimentation is relevant to your locale (g711u(ulaw) for America and g711a(alaw) for most of the rest of the world), the difference is in pre-emphasis but some might interpret that as "robotic" sounding.

Packet loss is unlikely if station to station calls are perfect.

Be careful of the authority behind "certified" hardware, if it is not certified by Digium, than in the case of Asterisk, it's only a self certification, unless it's actually a Digium product)

That's a pretty picture. Does it say Digium on it anywhere?

Now I'm confused has Hxx morphed into rodgerg in the same way as a TDM400p morphed into a X100P.

Either way, here is my opinion of the X100P POS

I suggest to get yourself a SIP account available for free or damn close, and a linksys 3102 and try asterisk without wearing leg-irons and save yourself three weeks of pain and frustration, ultimately to realize that you wasted 15 bucks.

Yes, Digium abandoned the dysfunctional X100 years ago (which it marketed even though it really was just a winmodem) it just was not and never wil be up to the job.

It's a karma, thing, I'm here right now, for what it's worth, take it or leave it, I just don't consult privately outside this forum. I just try to share in kind, what I got from Elastix' sharing here.
