    On our phone system we get a reoccurring beep on our phones while in a conversation. There is no real pattern as to when it happens. It basically sounds like you pushed a button, but you haven't. The sound is only audible on our end, the user on the other end of the phone doesn't hear it. Any ideas on how to track this down?

    Let me know what else you need to know.

    Thanks,

    Todd

    It's called talk-off, something "sounded" like a dtmf tone, make sure that

    realxedtmf=no

    in /etc/asterisk/chan_dahdi.conf if using dahdi trunks and /etc/asterisk/sip_custom.conf if using SIP and dtmfmode=inband (which you probably shouldn't be)

    Ok, realxedtmf=no was not in the chan_dahdi.conf file so I added it.

    Now I assume I need to restart the phone server??
    Total newbie here but what services would I need to restart, or should I just restart the entire computer?

    I have read Elastix without Tears and it has helped a great deal, also saved a bunch of stupid questions on the forum.

    Thanks,

    Todd

    service asterisk stop
    service dahdi restart
    service asterisk start

    should suffice.

    but I typo'ed it should be

    relaxdtmf=no
