    Dear Friends,

Latetly spam has been an really pain in this forums. I would like to thank moderators, specially DIcko, danardf and bob that have been helping on the reporting and deletion of the spam.

As a first task I just installed a captcha when new users register. That should stop a lot of spam that comes from bots.

I know there still a lot of spam and spammers in the forums. Please mailme to rbonifaz{at}elastix.org a link to the user profile so that I can delete the user and the posts.

I hope moderators could help more on this tasks, but the Kunena version of the forums does not give them the power they diserve ;). I would be doing some testings so that we can upgrade to latest kunena version of the forums. I believe that would allow a better forum contribution from moderators.

    Thank you all,

    Rafael

Some spam can pass this security.
    It's not very good.

    None is perfect. Example...

I set up a website that is a porn forum, or a escort review forum. I "install" a captcha that is a scrap of the captcha here. (and other forums) When a user posts to my bait forum, I get an account here as a real person is solving the captcha. I can even program in a first time false negative so the person solves 2. You would be surprised how often this happens.

The real fix is a automated "Report spam" button. And I think that is in the new version...
