recording problem...

hi again... I'm having a strange problem with recordings...
I have two ext 901 & 903, I setup 903 for incoming & outgoing recording "always".
when I call from 901 to 903 it records the incoming call with no problem; I go to monitor for the 903 user and I see it... but when I sign up with user 901 I see too the recording of my call when 901 was setup to "never" in incoming/outgoing... and when I call from 903 to 901 the outgoing call is not recorded... I don't know if it's a problem of configuration...

mmm... that is very weird...

If you login as a administrator user you will be able to see the recordings for all extensions...

what version of elastix you are using?

Hi jgutierrez... and thanx for your answer... what you say is right...
when I log in as admin I can see all recordings, but not the outgoing
calls, they are not even registered...the problem is when I log up as
user, in this case 901, it shows me the recording of an incoming call
when is setted up to "never" in this extension.
in user 903 is setted up "always", as user 903 I see the incoming
recording, not the outgoing, and I can see the incoming call logged up as user 901
when it doesn't has to be there... I called from 901=>903,
it records and I can see it as user admin, 903 and "901".
calls from 903=>901 outgoing doesn't show...

in two lines: in the monitor panel 901 shows "always" and outgoing calls
ext setup=> never
in the monitor panel 903 shows "always" and incoming calls
and not outgoing calls
ext setup=> always

if you have any idea it will be appreciated

btw version is 1.0-8

just updating...

I made a new installation of the 1.0-RC same issue, not outgoing calls being recorded and I still see the recordings incoming in the ext that is setup never...

any help ??

hi... thank you jgutierrez for your good intention, but I found out the
problem... I changed the script in "recordingcheck" and now all outgoing
calls are getting registered, even the internal calls... its a fix that
I founded at freepbx...

the only problem is that if an extension has inbound recording the recording can be seeing by another user, it means, if user 903 is setup as "never" for recording, and 901 has "always", when I log as user 903 I see the recording of user 901... so now he "knows" that has benn recorded by user 901... I think that elastix shows all recordings in either ways...

I used recordingcheck.2

just changed the one it exists at var/lib/asterisk/agi-bin

you have to change attrib because the file gets overwritted every time you apply changes to extensions... -r-xr-xr--

Hi there...

just to update this topic...

in a moment I said "...I think that elastix shows all recordings in either ways..."
it's not an Elastix issue... I don't want to discuss privacy or legality of call recording...
I know that Elastix shows up the recordings as ARI, so the thing is, the outgoing calls
cannot be registered between extensions.. ex. 903 setted up as "always"; 901 as "never" or
"on demand" when ext 903 calls 901 the outgoing call is not registered, because is between extensions...
but does register when I make an external call... to get the registration between extensions
I changed the recordingcheck script, now I can record the outgoing calls to another
extension... but the problem remains the same, if 903 recorded an incoming call from 901,
when 901 user logs up in ARI or Monitor in Elastix (it's the same) 901 user can SEE that his
call has BEEN registered by ext.903...
so the question is: is it possible to show "only" the registration to 903 and not to 901 ??
