When I try to start PUTTY or Ponderosa I get this type of message:

    Server Unexpectedly Closed Network Connection

    How do I correct this?

You shouldn't get this on a good working system.

Have you got any firewall software on the workstation you are trying to connect from?? If possible turn the firewall software off....

Check that ssh is running on the ELastix console by issing the bolded command. The following three lines should be similar on your system

    root@elastix ~]# ps -ef | grep sshd

    Code:
    root 2222 1 0 Oct22 ? 00:00:00 /usr/sbin/sshd
    root 4397 2222 0 05:37 ? 00:00:00 sshd: root@pts/0
    root 4429 4399 0 05:39 pts/0 00:00:00 grep sshd

    Regards
