Problem with Wanrouter, T1 or Asterisk?

    I didn't get much time to diagnose this due to the customer wanting it fixed, but we had a really bad lighting storm here last night and I had a few customers call and tell me that they can no longer dial out their T1, but they could receive calls.

    The only error it would give is that the channels were unavailable to dial out.

    I just had to restart asterisk, saw the span reset and away it went.

    Has anyone else ran into this?

    I'm searching for a way to possibly script asterisk to reset the span every hour or every 30 mins to prevent this in the future.

    Hi,

    Typically an issue like this would destroy the card if it was hit with lighting and all surge protection failed. So this looks to be as if something else was going on here. So please keep on eye on this and let me know how everything goes.

    i had the same issue, the source of the problem came from the T1 provider. They were having logic board issues due to the static and crazy weather. Or that is what they told me :)
