We have a point-to-point T1 between two locations. Currently it is split between voice and data (8 channels voice, 15 data). The data side uses Cisco 1700 series routers on both ends. Currently there is a Toshiba Strata phone system in both ends, which handles the calls on the T1 link to the other location. We are thinking of replacing the Toshiba with an Elastix box.

I presume we need a T1 card in both ends for the connection. Any experiences with similar setups? What are the pitfalls, and such.

How difficult is it to get the T1 link up and running with Elastix? We've been using Sangoma on the analog side. What equipment would you recommend?

    Thanks!

This should be a straightforward T1 setup on each side of your point-to-point.
We have a number of customers using our Redfone foneBRIDGE2 T1/E1 devices for T1 connectivity in scenarios like this and the setup is pretty simple. Nothing special to do for fractional vs. full T1 and we have native support built into Elastix including a configuration module for the Elastix GUI.

    Good luck,
