    Hello everybody:

does anyone know the steps to play a GSM codec file like
    music on hold?

Elastixs just receive Wav and MP3 files, but is easy to
understand that it has to be transcodec from those file
formats to one of the allowed codecs in asterisk server.

So, i would like to play a GSM file directly like MOH
to avoid transcoding (less CPU Work on every call).

by the way, is there any code to be dialed in the phone to
hear the music on hold without creating a new extesnión
    just for that?

Is it true that asterisk once in a call will take the best file extension for allowed codecs? so, if is it using a GSM codec for a SIP call, it will search for a GSM MOH file on its folder? just like that?

    Regards,

    Mauricio
