    Hi There,

We are using 5 SPA922's connected to Elastix. How do you pick up another ringing extension?

We have tried ** and **-then-ext number as per docs but does not seem to pick up the call?

Have you checked if you have set both the callgroup and pickup group as the same number. We need to set both of them as the same to be able to use the function.

    Hope this helps.

This apply s to group pick up not directed pick up (**+EXT).

The function *8 picks up a group ext
The function *8# picks up any ext ringing.
I think that greminn can do the job with *8 or *8# but if he wants something more complicated like ring groups then he will need the directed pickup.

don't confuse things. You use mISDN as a trunk to your PBX, that means that your PBX receive incoming calls and you make outgoing calls through mISDN trunk. This the first part, the second part is how the extensions are connected to your PBX. The most common way is through sip and some people with iax2(usually with soft phones). So *8# will work either with sip or iax extensions.

    Hi Greminn,

When testing this feature in the Linksys SPA922, SPA942 phones and Elastix 2.0 became something curious, pressing the second * immediately cut the call and appear the message "Call Ended".

The solution was to change a dial plan for one to accept the second star.

I currently use the following dial plan:

    Code:
    (*x|**x.|x.)

To change it you must open the web page of the device, go to Admin Login ? Advanced ? EXT1 ? Dial Plan

I've written a couple of articles in Spanish that explain how pick up calls and how to configure a SPA922 to elastix.

“Jalar” una llamada de un conmutador Elastix

Como configurar un SPA922 para un conmutador Elastix

    I hope this information helps.
