Hi

I am currently running elastix 1.5.2 and I install about 90 extensions and speed dials etc.

Everything works perfectly on the PRI , incoming and outgoing works 100%.

The machine will work for months until it reboots.

As soon as the machine reboots all incoming and outgoing calls stop working.

Even after a fresh install and setup you can reboot and it will not work.

I can make a backup in FreePBX of the machine after the reboot while it is not working anymore , then re-install elastix and load the "broken backup" and everything works fine again.

I have no idea what to do.

The PRI card links fine with the telco and the light is green but any outgoing calls just say all-circuits-busy-now .

please help

I remember about a bug with busy PRI after reboot that was solved in later release.
I can't remember what was the fix, but it was definitely discussed at length in these forum. You should be able to find the cure for it, or maybe simply an upgrade of your elastix will fix it too.

Hi

I have downloaded the latest stable release and re-installed my system.

I load my backup in free-pbx with the server disconnected from the network and no phones connected to it just my laptop and zoiper.

It works fine , the PRI works fine ,I can make and receive calls, as soon as i reboot it,the PRI stops working , the light is still green on the card but i cannot make any outgoing or incoming calls.

I have no clue what to do to fix this , this customer is 500 KM away from me and every time the server reboots i need to drive out there and re-install everything.

If there are any logs or tests that anybody wants me to do , please let me know and I will do it.

Thanks for the help.

Hi

Today the server stopped again.

I tried stopping both asterisk and dahdi and restarting them with no luck.

still cannot make any incoming or outgoing calls.

Hi MRJingles46,
You sould give us more info, we can't magically guess what is happening to your server.
Elastix is not a piece of cake, but as it is linux and asterisk based, there are log files to look at when you have problems.
You should paste here at least your dahdi config files, and maybe some debugging logs of your problems, and be more specific and detailed in your explanations.
You don't even say what dahdi hardware are you using!!

If you bothered to look at my previous messages I said the following -

"If there are any logs or tests that anybody wants me to do , please let me know and I will do it."

Nobody bothered to ask for anything , I cannot magically know exactly what logs/tests you are looking for.

I did exactly what dicko asked as he gave me clear instructions.

This is in fact the "newbie corner".

I am asking for help here , a few guided steps would be nice instead of comments on what I should have done , rather give me constructive advice and steps to follow.

I will do anything on the server that you request , just tell me how.

Ah but Mr Jingles, you posted 2 months ago, a fix was suggested, you did not however even have the courtesy to replay "yea or nay", and NOW you get pissy?

I will "just tell me how" as I do to everyone else,

A ) RTFM (there are more than one)
B ) Learn to be polite. Remember, it is you that begs.
C ) Try and give as much as you take.
D ) RTFM again
E ) Two months is a long time to not learn anything new, Did you A and D yet?

compare your self with a newborn, a two month old neonate will typically

1 Smile in response to your smile
2 Follow objects with eyes
3 Make noises other than crying
4 Repeat Ooohs and aahhs

Some neonates will probably be able to . . .

5 Hold up head at 45 degree angle while on stomach
6 Make smoother movements
7 Smile and laugh in response to you
8 Hold head steady when upright

Some neonates could possibly be able to . . .

9 Raise chest and head (do a mini push up), while on stomach
10 Reach for an object
11 Roll over one way
12 Bring both hands together
13 Bear weight on legs

The progression is similar in VOIP, work on 1 2 and 3 first, concentrate on 3, and look forward to 10 and 13, never bypass 7.

If I get a question from a user with a PRI installed in a production environment, I expect at least a minimim knowledge about Linux, telephony and Asterisk. A PRI line is not for a newbie. Period.

I clearly asked you for your dahdi config files and some debugging logs, I shouldn't have asked you for that, you should have post all that needed stuff at your first post.

Go and pay someone to fix your server, this is he best advice I can give you.

You guys are seriously sad.

I don't spend my days looking at an elastix screen , I actually rather go out and make money.

The funniest thing is that neither of you could give me a solution , and you are the so called experts????

I went onto another forum and actually posted a bounty for someone to fix my problem.

Not a single elastix "expert" could help...

I did in fact get a lot of help from the Trixbox guys and I am currently wondering why I should carry on with elastix and listen to little kids talk about babies.

IT IS ALWAYS SO EASY TO SAY RTFM WHEN YOU DON'T KNOW THE ANSWER YOURSELF.

how can I give you the info if you can't tell me what you need?

If you don't know the solution , which you clearly don't as you have obviously never come across something like this, then simply say so.

you are just making yourself look like a fool.

At the end of the day , it's no biggy if you guys aren't equipped to handle a problem like this.

I will just re-install and load the backup , that seems to sort out the problem every time.

just thought the experts would know , that's all.

Thanks for trying though.
