Hello Everyone

We have a TE4 card as link to our PSTN provider and we are running 1.6.2-7.

Voice quality and general performance is very good but MOH is sometimes choppy and after a few seconds even creepy.

sip to sip have no problem at all, we only have this problem with calls passing thru the E1 link

Our music files are wav format(not mp3), uncompressed, mono, 16 bit, 8khz. So is not a file format issue

Server resources are always under 20% utilization. So is not a resource problem.

We found a few comments on internet about this been a timing issue.

We added "internal_timing=yes" to "/etc/asterisk/asterisk.conf" but that gave us no difference. (thats supposed to give us dahdi_dummy.ko as time source)

Can someone point me to a solution to this issue?

Best Regards

We found a work around to this:

Our original audio files had peak measures around aprox -3db
We lowered the peaks to aprox -9db and audio quality over the phone get better

We also found -18db peaks on built-in wave files so we finally lowered our custom files to -18db and now audio quality is aceptable

Hope this help some one else
