    Folk,

In less than 48 hours of uptime, my RAM usage on the box is getting to 70% - see attached screenshot. Now I looked through archives and saw a hack of creating cron job that clears memory, which I did several hours back, but the RAM utilization still is not changing!

    Cron job entry is below:
    [root@xxx~]# cat /var/spool/cron/root
    0 */1 * * * sync; echo 3 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches

What could be eating up the RAM? I saw absolutely no indicator when running "top"

This is normal in Linux, it use all memory and cached all, not problem.

Try disabling OpenFire, to disable it, do the following:
    ps aux | grep openfire
get the PID, and then kill it

    Hi

Try clearing the full file. Go to /var/log/asterisk and execute the command rm -rf full.*. This should reduce the memory

That would reduce disck space, not memory usage.

    Hi

This would also reduce the memory usage, you can give it a try and see.

    Yes your are right,
it reduce memory but it is not a true way,
i think after installing elastix we should stop many extra and usefulness futures,
It is a time to have lite weight of elastix,
    we can discussing.
