    I have an updated system ( 1.3.2 to 1.5.2-2.3 )

i have switched from xen kernel to plain el5 due to random kernel soft lockups with wanpipe drivers.

I now experience kernel panics if and every time i issue "service dahdi stop" while amportal is still running.

I am not able to get the crash dump "Memory for crash kernel (0x0 to 0x0) notwithin permissible range" so i'll try to copy what i am seeing on the screen.

    Code: Bad EIP value.
    EIP: [<f917289d>] 0xf917289d SS:ESP 0068:c072dfd0
<0>Kernel panic - not syncing : Fatal exception in interupt
BUG: warning at arch/i386/kernel/smp.c:550/smp_call_function() (Tainted: GF)

( i've left out the HEX on the following messages )

    stop_this_cpu
    smp_call_function
    printk
    smp_send_stop
    panic
    die
    do_page_fault
    do_page_fault
    error_code
    run_timer_softirq
    __do_softirq
    apic_timer_interrupt
    default_idle
    default_idle
    cpu_idle

The only constant error i am getting while boot despite of the used kernel is

    Code:
wanpipe: no version for "Dahdi_alarm_notify" found: kernel tainted
    Any ideas ?

Should i open a bug report or is this a known issue ?

    THX !

setting up wanpipe 3.4.1 from source seems to resolve this issue.

    Hi Rafael,

    Thx for the reply.

The bug reports that you are addressing me to are all considered fixed after wanpipe 3.3.16

The problem i am refering to is while using 3.4.1 rpm on a completely uptodate system and under very specific terms.

    While
wanpipe: no version for "Dahdi_alarm_notify" found: kernel tainted
message is constant, a kernel panic only appears if i stop or restart dahdi while amportal is still running.

Both the above problems disappear after booting with non xen kernel and setting wanpipe-3.4.1 from source.

If more details are needed i would be glad to provide them.

Can you please create a bug report in bugs.elastix.org?
