Elastix needs to have jabberd2 (http://jabberd2.xiaoka.com/browser) instead of Openfire so that it can have XMPP/jabber embedded within it instead of a separate/large application such as Openfire. This is the way some other PBX developers are going now and its pretty easy as they mention. Once this is done it merely needs a page to enable/disable and control its features including file transfer. Then all users need to do is connect any chat client to it without having to worry about the various configurations/administration you have to do in Openfire as a separate server application. Thanx.
