Hi,

I have a problem of speed of sound with IVR on elastix 1.5.2.

I done the installation on several linux computers with or without vmware, with or without grub options
acpi=off noapic no lapic clocksource=pit nosmp
.

All time I have the same problem, the IVR cannot give a good speed voice. Even voices installed with elastix !

The unmodified voice file I used is a
Signed 16 bit Little Endian, Rate 8000 Hz, Mono
First, I tried to change the format of my voice file with sox

sox -r8000 voice.wav voice.8000.wav
So the voice is too slow.

Second, I tried to change the speed of my file with sox

sox -r8000 voice.wav voice.8000.wav speed 2.3
The speed seems to be good but the voice is too bad.

Can you help me to solve my problem (or elastix problem) ?

Thx

There is a custom kernel optimized for vmware that should work fine:
Have a look here:

http://pbxinaflash.com/vm/

Also you can try VirtualBox, I think it doesn't have those choppy sound problems.

I don't test this optimization (I don't find it before). I'll try it.

But it isn't enough. I have the problem with vmware computers and with

So in computer 1 and 2 with zen 5.2 and Slackware 12.2 you have the same sound issues when you install asterisk inside the vmware?
This is weird. You shouldn't have this problem in a clean Elastix installation.
Maybe the problem is in your phones?
Try to reinstall.

Thx ramoncio,

I test http://pbxinaflash.com/vm/ on a vmware server ad it is running !

So, I done the same test on the physical computer and ... IT IS RUNNING fine !!!!

So the problem is with the default linux kernel of elastix (Don't be afraid, the problem can be found in the trixbox distribution too. I test it and stop to use it because keyyo).

Just a tone down : there are lot of
module not found
(wct4xxp, wcte12xp, wct1xxp, wctdm24xxp, wcfxo, wctdm, wcb4xxp, wctc4xxp, xpp_usb, rxt1, r1t1 and rcbfx)
with a fatal module dahdi not found ???

(I can just test with on vmware, the physical computer is not in my office)

Great thx.
