    Hi,
I've created a new interface with an IP fail-over thru ssh/putty but Elastix won't recognize it. I can only see 1 interface on Elastix however when I do the ifconfig command on ssh, i can see the 2 interfaces. (I'm a beginner). thanks for ur help

    Welcome Marie:
But your post is way lacking in detail, please explain what you mean by "fail-over" the term is very inexplicit to most of us.

    Hi Dicko,
I've been told to create an "IP fail-over" so that I can easily swap servers in case i wanna change my actual server: i won't have to set it up all over again, i would only have to transfer my IP fail-over to my new server.
    I've followed this procedure: http://help.ovh.co.uk/IpAlias

I'm sorry Marie but you you have as yet no idea what you are doing, your explanation is non-sensical , please spend a little more time understanding networking and what is actually served on your networks . my guess is you need to add drbd and pacemaker or heartbeat to your current deployment to even think about taking the next step

There will be unlikely no more answers from here until you do.
