First of all, I feel like an idiot. I'm simply trying to install Elastix onto a generic box that meets minimum system requirements. (the CD drive works and I can boot on this machine using other types of boot CD's)
I think I'm getting hung up on actually creating the CD from which the system needs to boot. I've tried burning the CD from multiple machines with multiple programs. I've tried booting from all of the disks that I've created with multiple machines using multiple devices (on board CD ROM and USB CD ROM). I've even set the recording speed of the CD drive with which I'm recording all the way down to its lowest setting. Can anyone help this dumb-a$$ out?

Got it figured out. I was right in assuming that I was doing it wrong! I just needed to burn an image onto a DVD and it all worked ok.
