Inbound caller ID show the number of the calling party twice rather than the name and the number. The carrier has verified that CNAM is enabled on the circuit. Is there a setting that I'm missing somewhere that would fix this? Any help would be appreciated.

log in the cli and check what is exactly happening when you are receiving a call.

you can also add more debug by adding a sip set debug to see how the CLID is presented by your provider.

This is patspidy- had to create a corporate account. Forgive me, but I am brand new with elastix. I've looked at the CDR record through the GUI and under the "Source" field, I see no name- just the number. Would that indicate that I am NOT receiving CNAM from the provider? Also, in a previous post of yours, I found some good advice you gave someone else. It was to change the CID lookup source field in the incoming route. I have no options in that field. Would I need to add a lookup source? If so, how? Thanks in advance.

again look at your log to see exactly how it is presented and to make sure it's not a change that appears during the dialplan.

you can see the action directly in loging to your server and doing asterisk -rvvvvvv
or by looking at the log file in /var/log/asterisk/full

You will then see what is coming from your card.
But what is your carrier? What kind of trunk are you using: POTS, PRI, SIP, IAX2, ...?

The trunk in use is SIP.

then when your in the CLI add a 'sip set debug' to see all the sip frame coming when you are receiving a call to see exactly what your provider is sending and if it maybe putting the cnam on the wrong field.

when you're done, you can stop the debug by 'sip set debug off'

Patrick, here is part of the file you mentioned. I do see the name listed of the caller, but I don't know how to read the file well enough to know if the CNAM is in the right place or not. Could you please take a look and let me know what you think? Thanks again fo the help.

Yes everything looks good.
The CLID Name is recognized and transmitted to your extension.

Maybe your extension doesn't know how to treat a CLID?

In your gui, go to the pbx tab, then unembedded freepbx, then report. You should see all the CLID there.

The CLID is listed as the number twice in teh unembedded free PBX.

Does that mean that the provider is NOT sending the correct info?

no, in your log it shows that the CLID name and CLID number is received ok.
I don't know why it's lost when going to your ring group.

Could you show the log when you route your inbound call to an extension instead of a ringgroup to see if there is a change of CLID somewhere.

Attached is the part of the "FULL" file from the PBX. This should only be for the call I made. I directed a DID to go striaght to an Extension and I answered the call.

look at your previous file:
[May 21 12:28:41] VERBOSE[16331] logger.c: -- Executing [s@macro-user-callerid:19] NoOp("SIP/Velocity-b69144e8", "Using CallerID "ANGELONE JOSEPH" <7727858448>" in new stack

it did found a CLID, and I don't understand why you can't see it in your report and extensions as it was treated correctly by asterisk.

however on the last file you've sent:
[May 24 15:39:20] VERBOSE[9254] logger.c: -- Executing [s@macro-user-callerid:19] NoOp("SIP/Velocity-b7e048a8", "Using CallerID "7728124342" <7728124342>") in new stack

it did not found a CLID name and put the number as name.

Try again with a sip set debug to make sure that the CLID was sent, because here it shows that it was not detected/process by asterisk.

That's two different problems.

Sorry. they are from two different systems with the same symtoms. I could not gain access into the one that I wanted to fix first (inheritance). The second file that I sent was real time and on the system that I wish to debug right now. So, it looks like on that one, the carrier isn't providing CNAM but on the first one it is?

the carrier is looking further into their side of it. I'm fairly certain that the problem will be with them. the logs dont lie!! Thanks for the help, much appreciated.
