After I update the elastix the In-Call Asterisk Attended Transfer stops working. Anyone have this bug and how can I fix it?

I have the same problem. Is there any quick fix for this or it is a Asterisk issue?

I was just about to post the same issue myself.

bellow you will see 3 extensions (166 - 167 - 168 ) 166 calls 168 and 168 uses *2 to transfer to 167.

166 is put on hold, 168 talks to 167, 168 hangs up, 167 hears the beep and instead of opening a channel between them both 166 and 167 lines hangup.

I suspect this to be a freepbx problem but i would appropriate if someone knowledgeable could give us a hint.

I had the same problem, and I solved it recompiling a previous asterisk (1.4.24) and dahdi (2.1.0.4) from source following the instructions here:

http://www.asterisk-es-rsp.org/blog/?p=5

It is better if you stop asterisk and dahdi before installation of new versions. You should also remove all modules in /usr/lib/asterisk/modules before installing asterisk.

Thanks for the response ramoncio but i am afraid i do not speak any Spanish? and would possibly fall into a block situation if the system gets messed up by misconfiguration or a fail of correctly following instructions.

I have just been able to overcome several other problems with sangoma hardware ( cosed by xen and wanpipe rpms ) on the box and i already have a skeptic and displeased client to handle.
Adding to the problem instead of resolving is not what i am looking for.

If you could translate the steps in English i would be more than willing to follow them on a testbox.

Thanks again.

Also note that i have been able to reproduce the problem on 2 machines so a i believe that a more in depth look into elastix updates might be required.

It might be related to freePBX updates but since you have been able to resolve the situation by setting asterisk and dahdi from source elastix would be the place to look.

I have been searching all around the net for similar situations but i only come up with a year old posts and older.

Could you ask a dev to take a look at it ?

Many thanks.

Yes, I have reported the devs. They'll fix it asap.

If you want to do some tests you can try:

Code:
cd /usr/src
amportal stop
/etc/init.d/dahdi stop
mv /usr/lib/asterisk/modules /usr/lib/asterisk/modules-`date +%Y-%m-%d-%Hh%Mm`
yum -y install subversion
apt-get -y install subversion
svn export [url=http://dev.irontec.com:8080/svn/asterisk-es-rsp/team/Odicha]http://dev.irontec.com:8080/svn/asteris ... eam/Odicha[/url]

Thank you for giving time into this.

It seems that we have duplicate bug reports on this matter as i have also made a report earlier.

I hope that this will not fall into the black hole of mantis and we will have an official solution soon.

Meanwhile i will try the solution you are suggesting as soon a i get some spare sangoma hardware available.

Thanks again.

Watch out!
Your sangoma hardware will most likely not work after this.
Usually you will need to install the Sangoma source and patches before the compilation.

Thanks for the note !

To my knowledge sangoma needs no patches to work and compiling wanpipe from source has lately become my second nature :)

Would not dare to do any monkey business on a production server anyway !

I think the problem is this bug in asterisk that Alex told you in the bugtracker.
With asterisk 1.4.24 it works fine.
First try compiling asterisk 1.4.25.1 from source and if it doesn't work try patching it with the patch at Digium bugtracker. And if this doesn't solve your problems, then try downgrading to asterisk 1.4.24 as I did.

Latest Elastix source rpms for asterisk are here:

http://repo-es.elastix.org/elastix/1/updates/SRPMS/

This srpms have all the elastix patches already applied, you just have to compile. Remember to backup and delete your /usr/lib/asterisk/modules on every asterisk recompilation.

Thanks to all for the quick response and help.

I have been able to verify that patching asterisk 1.4.25.1 with this patch resolves the problem.

I've reported the results on the bug tracker and eagerly anticipate an updated rpm from the elastix dev team.
