Hi all. I have an Hauwey e169 usb connect card and I read that i can use it in asterisk to make and receive calls from mobile number of the sim that i use in. The problem is that i can't find the way to install the appropriate module in elastix. I use the last elastix version in 64bit mode. Someone can help me installing chan datacard?
I' m not able to install it from svn.
Thank you

its almost useless in centos because of the fact that chan datacard relays in usbmodswitch to change modem status from pen drive mode to modem..and the kernel in centos does not support natvely this function as new kernels from ubuntu debia etc does...
you need to do 3 steps basiclly
1 change usb mode to modem
2 configure correctly modem in usb_modwitch config
3 compile and configure chan datacard manually from tar and asterisk sources and then configure it...
beware that the real fact is that only 6 or 7 modems are supportde only.

Re: Re:How to install chan datacard

as in chan datacard forum says and asterisk es lists debian 6 or ubuntu 10.10
fedora 14 also has good comments
but remember only modems listed in the readme of chan datacard works

you need to run usb modswitch automatically in services to change the modem mode every time that its connected and that modem 1522 is not in the support list so it will not work
* Huawei K3715
* Huawei E169 / K3520
* Huawei E1550 ---- 1550 not 1552

This channel is known NOT to work with the folowing UMTS cards:
* Huawei E160 / K3565

yes I undestand. But the card is an e1550...infact when i put in windows dc ulocker says me that is an Huawey e1550. The other thing is that one time this device was seen by chan datacard. It's like the sistem missundestood the card id or the card lock itself in a strange mode that is seen like other kind of card...
I read that there's another module that is similar, chan:sebi....where to get it ?
Thank you

Bus 001 Device 003: ID 12d1:1001 Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. E620 USB Modem
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 80ee:0021

Re: Re:How to install chan datacard

if you still using centos you will never stop suffering..use only as chan sebi and datacard developers say.... debian or ubuntu or redhat 6/fedora as centos 5.5 kernel does not support usb modwitch correctly beucase its old origins
