HELP text editor

    hello, im new with this....is there any graphic interface on elastix 0.9 to run directly from the server???....i kwow there's the web interface, but i can't modify .pl files (or i don't know how to).... if not.....can you tell me how to edit files (exactly .pl files) directly from the server.....(by console)....or....teach me how to install a text editor....

    There are a few ways you can tackle this. First Centos comes with VI that can edit text files. I like nano better though myself. Here is what I would do, at the console type:
    yum install nano

    Then let it do its thing. They you simply go to the prompt and type:
    nano here type the path to the file you want to edit

    You will see the file, use the arrow to go to the line you want to edit or type on and type.

    When you are done editing the file just control X and it will ask you if you want to save say Y if you want to and enter to exit.

    That is the simplest way.
