I've noticed this mentioned in the GSOC ideas, but what are we hoping to achieve from this?
Are we simply wanting a nice iptables GUI that blocks external access from everything but the IP Addresses of the SIP / IAX2 trunks, and a predefined IP for each external Ext?

I guess what I'm getting at is: Before we can come up with a solution, we should clearly identify the problem and what we want resolved :)

Hi Chilling.
I we look around every secure problem into each post. There's often of attack problems.
So, what's the reply on each post?
  • - iptable.
    - fai2ban.
    - ssh root account disabled from WAN (Dicko soslution)

I think that of course, it's very important to improve the security into Elastix.

Like every server, it must be secure. It's a little bit as if a Windnows 2003 Server was full open from the WAN without Anti-Virus and FireWall.
