    I have Elastix installed with a TDM800 card (with 4 * FXO and 4 * FXS ports). Can my fax phone be routed through Elastix to give me an additional outgoing PSTN line. I have absolutely no idea how to configure a FXS port.

    I eould need the incoming fax calls to be routed to the Fax machine via the TDM800 on a PSTN line and for outgoing fax messages to be routed out on a PSTN line.

    So far I have done the following;
    1) Trunk for the Fax PSTN line called Zap2
    2) Inbound Route set up for Zap2 (FXO port?)
    3) Does setting up an Outbound Route from Zap 2 set up the FXS port?

    If the above is not the way to do this, can someone explain the process required to do what I am trying to do.

    In zapata.conf you have to put faxdetect=incoming.
    Then in the inbound route you have to setup fax extension (the one with the real fax) and fax detection. I use zaptel and 4 seconds.

    Nvfaxdetect is better and it was supposed to be very soon included in Elastix, but I think it is not yet. It doesn't work for me.

    For the outboud faxes you have to use iaxmodem. Read the guides or watch the videos.
