I may have posted my original problem http://www.elastix.org/index.php?option ... 8&id=39668 in the wrong place so I will try the follow up here.

Basically I have two elastix 1.6 systems sending faxes to one another.

If I direct the fax to a specific fax extension with NV_Fax Detection it all works fine - sees that it is a fax, redirects to the fax extension, receives fine
(although I still get this line in the logs
**NOTICE[4625] channel.c: Dropping incompatible voice frame on SIP/192.168.16.11-12883ef0 of format slin since our native format has changed to 0x4 (ulaw)**,
it doesn't prevent the fax from being received - therefore this does not appear to be the problem - although would be nice to know what it is!!)

However, if I change the InboindRoute Fax extension to 'system' in order to take advantage of the fax email redirection the system hangs up with the following log.

Can anyone point me in the right direction / somewhere to look to solve this please??

Alternatively - if I have a large number of users with fax detection is it better to set up a Virtual Fax per user and direct the inbound route to each specific Virtual Fax?
Is there a limit to the number of Virtual Faxes one can use??

Or, is my thought reasonable that I can have a pool of virtual faxes (say 10) and direct the inbound route to 'system' and have the faxes rerouted by email that way?

I would be very grateful if someone could let me know if I am thinking about this in the right way!

    Thanks and Regards,

    Les.
