I would like to execute a script when an 'adhoc' or 'always' recording starts and ends. I looked at the macro-enable-record macro thinking this was where to do it, but I could not get it working. Perhaps I don't know how the dial plan and MixMonitor acts when a *1 is pressed.

    And help is appreciated.

In the General settings there is a box for "Run after record" you can largely do anything you want by writing that script, to run a script before you send it to mix-monitor you would have to hack the macro-enable-record, I have done all sorts of things with recordings, but never needed to precondition the state before recording. You can determine how you got there after the recording by looking at ${callfilename} you can re-query the cdr records from mysql by looking for the data associated with ${uniqueid} (but only after the call is ended)
