    I set up a elastix box, updated everything and all is working but I cant get one thing to work. It wont email faxes or voicemails to outbound emails.

    I am sure this is some setting in postfix, but I dont know postfix that well.

    I did create a domain and email address and use this for the voicemail address and it worked.

    So it is working for internal domains. Postfix will nto mail outside the local network. So I am not sure what I should change to get this to send the voicemails to my gmail account.

    Any help would be great.
    Thanks

    Sounds like you need to edit postfix for your smtp provider

    etc/postfix/main.cf
    Scroll down till you see #INTERNET OR INTRANET

    relayhost=mail.yourmail.com <your SMTP providers

    then restart postfix /etc/init.d/postfix restart

    that should get it going

    Thanks Dave,

    I think this is on the right track. As I was looking through the logs all the errors were from the remote servers not accepting relayed email.

    I tried using my ISP mailserver but I believe it needs login info and I am not sure how to do that I tried:
    mail.myisp.com u:me@somewhere.com i:me@somewhere.com p:mypassword

    Postfix would not take that. Is there a way to do auth?

    Thanks for your help

    Just wanted to update that I was able to get this working by changing the below options in my postfix.cfg:

    mydomain = mydomain.dyndns.org
    myhostname = dyndns.org

    This worked for me. Thanks
