You need some ftp client software for windows.

    Try with filezilla

    thank u for answering.
I tried it but it didn't work.
Everytime I try to connect I get an permission denied message.
I enter "root" for username and "my password" for password.
Does it have any default username and password?

Try with Winscp, as Elastix by default doesn't have a ftp server enbled, but Winscp uses scp.

Just use Windows 7 FTP server. Here's the link to setup from A to Z: (google ftp server by Britec)
    Then just go to
    Elastix
    System
    Backup/Restore
    Server FTP: ftp://192.168.1.100
    Port: 21
    User: FTP's username
    Password: FTP's password
Path Server FTP: F:\Elastix FTP backup files (or whatever you named your file on a harddrive on your pc).

Just noted on an FTP backup today that you need the following setting:
    Server FTP: 192.168.1.100, NOT ftp://192.168.1.100.

Having troubles with FTP back up again.
    Elastix Server: 192.168.1.103:444
    FTP Server: 192.168.1.101:21
Router: Port 21 forwarded to 192.168.1.101

FTP transfer failed. In fact, some old backup files in PC 192.168.1.101 E:\Elastix FTP backup files have been removed and ended up back in the Elastix server?

    Hi

I have set up Elastix to do an automatic daily backup. I then have set FTP settings to FTP to a server. I then use Firefox and drag and drop the backed up file to the FTP server list. This seems hit and miss but it does work fine. I use Mozilla from another machine to FTP into the same repository and keep pressing refresh and you can see the backup size changing so you know it is working FTP'ing OK.
