dispatch center application

    Having a hell of a time with SIP at a customer. Want to move them over to an Elastix box using POTS lines. Have available 4 lines from a provider now on a hunt group. I need to have 2 phones that can pick up any incoming call (both are dispatchers at a delivery service). Polycom IP550s. Thinking of running the main number through a queue, and having each extension be a static member. That way when the main number is busy, the provider (Qwest) will roll to the second number. Want to run Asternic Call Center Stats.

    The problem is putting people on hold. If one extension puts people on hold, the other can not pick up, or so my experience with SIP shows me. Asterisk won't support Shared Line Appearance that the Polycom phones are capable of doing. Other than parking a call, is there a way to make it so that one dispatcher can pick up a call on hold that the other places?

    With the operator panel you can grab calls. Also you can assign a "hold" button that parks calls.
