I physically connected 1 PTSN line to my Elastix server and defined 1 Trunk/Route. I have the default 0 9_outside outbound route with a dial pattern of 9.| and configured the phone/server to a username/password configuration to match. I do not have a SIP account I use PTSN only and one trunk as #1.

When I place a call, even a fake one, the log returns this:

What am I doing wrong to dial out?

If you are trying to do an outbound call, you are not using the outbound pattern that you have defined (9|.), in this case, you should dial 91234567890.

If you are testing an inbound call, then the trunk must have been defined on the context from-pstn, and you you will need to configure an inbound route, using the anyCID/anyDID option

For the outbound call: Even if I dial 91234567890 it comes back saying the number dialed is not in service and the phones remain unregistered.

For the Inbound Call: The Webpage "Edit ZAP Trunk (DAHDI compatibility Mode)" does not have a field to enter the context info.

    Thank you, need help.

Paste the log of a call with the correct outbound dialled number.

    Paste the results of executing:
    lsdahdi
    asterisk -rx "dahdi show channels"

I had to put the extension number into the phone web setup page as I had erroneously used the description label instead. Now I can dial in and out without issue.

    Resolved.

    Thank You.
