    Hi,

I have an IBM x3200 server, Dual Xeon 3Ghz with 2GB RAM with Elastix and all updates.

The traffic is low, 3-4 people on phone (during peak hours, 2-3 people hold in queue).

    I have G729 10 channel installed and end-to-end G729 codec.
    So transcoding never happens.

Average CPU load is around 5-7% when checked using the `uptime` or `top` command.

Nothing much on the server which should cause the CPU to peak.
But, yesterday the server peaked twice without much traffic.

I got 2 emails with below details: (its a simple script which measures server load every 5 minutes and send an email with the details; if the load peaks above 40%)
    ----
    CPU load High: 63%. At Oct08 22:10: InQueue: 0 -- OnCall: 1
    CPU load High: 71%. At Oct08 15:10: InQueue: 1 -- OnCall: 4
    ---

Is there any way to understand what may have caused this peaking ??

    Thx
    Vai

Login via SSH and run the command:
    top

Press Ctrl + C to stop "top" from running.
It's the equivalent to windows task manager and it'll tell you whats using all your CPU :)
