    Hello,

    Does anyone have the SIP trunk settings for using Cbeyond as the provider? The folks at Cbeyond dont have any configuration examples for Elastix and I have tried a bunch of different things in the trunk information, but I am not able to register my Cbeyond SIP account.

    Can someone please post a Trunk configuration example using Cbeyond as the SIP provider?

    Thanks!!!!

    Outgoing Settings:

    Trunk Name: cbeyond

    PEER Details:

    disallow=all
    allow=ulaw
    canreinvite=yes
    context=from-trunk
    dtmfmode=auto
    fromdomain=sipconnect.lax0.cbeyond.net
    host=sipconnect.lax0.cbeyond.net
    insecure=very
    nat=never
    outboundproxy=sip-proxy.lax0.cbeyond.net
    qualify=250
    secret=***
    type=peer
    username=***

    Incoming Settings: All Empty

    Register String: <username>:<secret>@cbeyond/<username>

    The hardest part for me was actually the firewall configuration. This machine is behind a pfSense firewall and in order to get calls working properly I had to change outbound NAT to use static-port (http://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/Static_Port). Without static-port set we were only getting one way audio. I also had to disable private network blocking since "sipconnect.lax0.cbeyond.net" resolves to 192.168.22.212.

    That firewall, was this a cbeyond default or something that was added?

    Does nobody here have a problem with Cbeyond's incredible arrogance and the fact they are irrefutable\y non-compliant "internet bandits". ?

    (they broke the end-to-end principle of Internet architecture !! )

    ref:

    ping sipconnect.lax0.cbeyond.net
    PING sipconnect.lax0.cbeyond.net (192.168.22.212) 56(84) bytes of data.
    ^C

    No, pfSense (pfsense.org) is just the firewall we're using in front of it. They provided my customer with a Cisco router and encouraged us to use that as our firewall. We had already installed and configured the pfSense box with a few VPN's and load balancing so I insisted on not using the Cisco box.

    I just made mention of the firewall configuration because I assume other firewalls may have similar settings that could make or break the connection.

    We have just switch to Elastix 2.0.3 with ASterisk 1.6 and have problems with Cbeyond SIP trunk:

    1. No inbound DTMF

    2. Allow ANonymous SIP must be on otherwise message from Elastix " dialed number does not exist..."

    I have noticed we have a problem with " "sipconnect.chi.cbeyond.net" resolves to 192.168.22.212

    Please advice

    THANK YOU

    MST,

    Did you ever get this working? We upgraded to Asterisk 1.8 and now we're having the same issue. The only way I can get inbound calls working is by enabling anonymous SIP.

    Yes you have to try changing / tuning items in trunk and as of inbound route you have to use custom one that must be in custom.extension

    I will look in my settings and give you better answer.

    ONE KNOW FOR SURE CBEYOND SUCKSSSSSSSS AND THEY WONT HELP YOU!!!!

    Yeah, I'm really surprised at how much of a mess it is. When I called for help they just referred me to their platform support site and said if I couldn't find my answer there, there was nothing else they could do.

    I've been spoiled with Telepacific SIP trunking. They put a local IP on your voice vlan and all inbound and outbound calls are sent through it. No authentication or registration to worry about, it's all taken care of in their IAD.

    Thanks in advance for the info.
